There’s a brief, beautiful moment in Ibiza when the island is in bloom and we call it wildflower season.
From May to early June, something quietly miraculous happens. The hills and fields around Can Frare burst into colour: soft purples, electric blues, golden yellows, and poppy reds. Crown daisies ripple in the breeze. Bellflowers catch the light. Wild thyme carpets the ground with scent. And the borage attracts clouds of bees and bright green lizards that dart between the rocks.
It’s a wild, joyful time of year. And, in our view, the best season for a spring wedding in Ibiza.
These weeks, from roughly 10 May to 10 June, strike a rare balance.
The days are long and light-filled, but the air still holds a freshness that summer soon forgets. Guests stay cool in formalwear. Flowers hold their shape and colour through the ceremony. The sun sets late and soft, casting a golden light across the land.
The heat hasn’t yet risen. The island isn’t yet crowded. And everything feels open, peaceful, alive.
At Can Frare, the wildflower weeks bring a special kind of energy. You can walk from the house into the surrounding hills and see lavender, thistles, and crown daisies growing along the paths.
By contrast, the high summer months — July and August — can be overwhelming.
Temperatures regularly rise above 34°C. Ibiza reaches full capacity. The pace is faster, louder. The heat is intense — often uncomfortable for guests, hard on flowers, and not ideal for formalwear or ceremony timing.
We don’t host weddings during these months, because the experience simply doesn’t feel right.
Instead, we host a limited number of weddings each year, never more than 10, in the island’s most golden windows:
•Spring: 7 May – 11 June
•Autumn: 17 September – 9 October
But it’s the wildflower weeks that we keep close to our hearts. There’s a softness to the land, a warmth to the light, and a rare kind of joy in the air.
If you’re dreaming of a spring wedding in Ibiza, this is when the island feels most like itself — and most ready to be shared.
